Non-Directive Pregnancy Counselling

A supportive space to pause, reflect, and be truly heard

Pregnancy, birth, and the early days of parenting can be deeply transformative, and sometimes, they don’t unfold the way you expected. Whether you're navigating a surprise pregnancy, making complex decisions, or coming to terms with a birth or postnatal experience that left a mark, you're not alone.

At EmPower Matrescence, Non-Directive Pregnancy Counselling offers a confidential, compassionate space to explore what’s on your mind and in your body without judgment, pressure, or an agenda. This isn’t about telling you what to do or how to feel. It’s about offering space to process, be witnessed, and find clarity in your own time and way.

This space is for you if you’re:

  • Currently pregnant and feeling overwhelmed or uncertain

  • Navigating an unintended or complex pregnancy

  • Exploring your options or emotions around parenting, adoption, or termination

  • Processing a previous birth, miscarriage, stillbirth or abortion

  • Seeking support after a birth that was disappointing, traumatic or simply hard to put into words - read more about birth debriefing here

  • Struggling with the identity shift or emotional load of early motherhood - read more about this here

  • Wanting to feel more grounded in your transition to parenting

You do not need a specific diagnosis or plan—just a need to talk and be supported.

What to Expect

Sessions are offered via Zoom or in person (Perth metro: Rockingham to Alkimos). You’ll have a safe, non-clinical space to talk through whatever is coming up—whether that’s grief, anger, confusion, numbness, relief, or a tangled mix of all of them. You set the pace; I’ll walk alongside.

As someone who has worked as a nurse, midwife, and birth trauma therapist, I bring both clinical understanding and deep emotional insight to this work. There is no agenda here—just space, support, and gentle guidance when you're ready.

What You’re Eligible For

You can access up to three fully rebated sessions under Medicare, if you are:

  • Pregnant, at any gestation

  • Postnatal, up to 12 months after birth (including after miscarriage, termination or stillbirth)

This includes support for birth debriefing and postnatal adjustment, even if your pregnancy was planned and wanted.
