EMDR

Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing

Sometimes, an experience stays with you long after it’s over.

You might find yourself reliving moments you wish you could forget, feeling a wave of dread every time a reminder pops up, or avoiding places and conversations that bring it all back.

EMDR is a gentle, research-backed therapy that helps your brain and body process distressing memories so they no longer have the same hold over you.

What is EMDR?

When something overwhelming happens, your brain sometimes stores the memory in a “stuck” way, so it feels as raw and present as the day it happened. EMDR uses guided eye movements or tapping to help your brain file those memories away properly, so they become less vivid and less emotionally charged.

You still remember what happened, but it stops triggering the same intense reactions - giving you space to heal, feel safe again, and move forward.

What Can EMDR Help With?

  • Birth trauma or distressing pregnancy experiences

  • Miscarriage, stillbirth, or pregnancy loss

  • Medical or surgical trauma

  • Accidents or injuries

  • Grief and loss

  • Anxiety, panic, or phobias

  • Flashbacks, nightmares, or intrusive memories

How It Works

  • 90-minute appointments: Longer sessions allow us to work at a steady, unrushed pace.

  • In-home sessions: I come to you, so you can be comfortable in your own space.

  • The first session is always preparation: We’ll build safety, understanding, and emotional stability before processing trauma memories.

  • Minimum of two sessions booked upfront: The first session is preparation, and the second is where we begin the processing work.

  • Introductory offer - $80 per session: This is a special launch price for a limited time, with the option to book additional sessions at the same rate. So you’ll pay $160 upfront, and can book as many sessions as you need at this introductory rate.

Is EMDR right for me?

EMDR is often the best fit if your main challenge is dealing with the symptoms of trauma - the flashbacks, nightmares, and waves of anxiety when memories surface.

EMDR isn’t really about the trauma itself, it’s about what’s left over after. This isn’t talk therapy, where we rehash the problem over and over. Instead, we go to the root of the problem and work towards resolving your symptoms altogether.

Not sure if this is the right fit?
